The Valley Connector Program, delivered by the Valley Regional Enterprise Network (Valley REN), is part of the National Connector Program and supports newcomers, international graduates, and local professionals in building strong professional networks in the Annapolis Valley. The program uses a structured, relationship-based networking model that matches job-ready Connectees with volunteer Connectors—local business owners, managers, and community leaders—working in their field of interest.
Through one-to-one meetings, Connectors provide industry insight, local labour market knowledge, and professional introductions that help Connectees better understand opportunities in the region and access the hidden job market. The program supports talent retention, workforce integration, and employer engagement while strengthening the region’s professional community.
In addition to the traditional Connector model, the Valley Connector Program aligns with Nova Scotia’s evolving workforce priorities, including increased focus on skilled trades and workforce development pathways. Together, these efforts support a resilient regional economy by connecting talent to opportunity and helping employers access skilled, diverse professionals.
