The (SMFAA) builds bridges for immigrants and newcomers entering Greater Sudbury’s existing services, workforce and social milieu. We identify areas of challenge and come up with innovative solutions while providing cross-cultural services to individuals, organizations and enterprise.
As a not-for-profit organization, we represent 50 delegate groups with a growing client population of 30,000. Managed by a culturally diversified elected Board of 17 members, the centre is committed to maintaining high standards of community service, volunteerism and the protection of human rights.
Newcomers and immigrants can expect guidance and support with their daily settlement challenges, such as housing, employment referrals, education access, medical services, paperwork assistance, translation documentation and social community workshops and gatherings.
SMFAA also holds beginner French and English language classes through online venues as well as several healthcare, tax preparation and settlement sessions both in person and virtually.
We open our arms to newcomers and immigrants alike and hope we can assist in your transition into Greater Sudbury by introducing you to social groups and the joys of living in the North.
